This course is a pre-accredited Learn Local course that aims to provide you with opportunities in learning for a range of opportunities including education, employment and volunteering.

Each class will have a theory focus and will incorporate a range of practical activities in the kitchen. Participants will prepare, cook and eat a two-course meal while learning life skills that are also perfect for the workplace.

The emphasis for this course will be vocational skills preparing, serving, cleaning in an eating and cooking space.

What will I learn:

·        Personnel hygiene

·        Kitchen set ups

·        Health and safety in the kitchen.

·        Cooking techniques and learning about ingredients

·        Customer service

·        Preparing hot and cold meals and beverages

Course schedule:

Term 2 Class Dates: 19 April 2024 – 28 June 2024 (11 weeks)

Time: 10am - 2pm

Duration: 17 weeks (Once a week on Fridays)

Tuition fee $50.00

Course materials & amenities fee $140.00

Foods/ meal cost are all included.

Total $190.00 (just $17 approx. per class!)

Learn Local courses are subsidised through the Department of Education and Training. Participation Branch and eligibility rules apply.

*ACFE Funded places can only be offered to learners who are Australian citizens or hold permanent residency. Proof of citizenship eligibility is required upon enrolment.

Bookings are only confirmed after receiving completed enrolment form and payment.

Unless a class is postponed or cancelled by SKCC, refunds and transfers are only considered when a written request is received 10 days before your course begins. An administration fee of $35 applies. No refunds are given once a course has commenced. If you fail to attend a class that you have paid for, you will not receive a refund. Classes may be cancelled due to insufficient enrolments. If your class is cancelled by SKCC, you will receive a full refund.SKCC reserves the right to alter or postpone courses, or to change fees, teachers or locations if unforeseen circumstances occur.

If you enrol in a Pre-accredited course, we will require additional information. You will need to fill in a detailed enrolment form.

If there is a medical emergency, you authorise SKCC to seek appropriate care on your behalf and you accept full responsibility for expenses incurred.
